Norwegian identification number

In Norway, the public authorities and other organisations require you to have a Norwegian identification number. There are two different types of identity numbers:  D number (temporary) and national identity number.

You must have a Norwegian identification number in order to prove your identity to public authorities and other parties in Norway.

BankId in your mobile

Benefits of having BankId on mobile

There are several benefits to have and use BankId on mobile phone. It enables you to verify your identity digitally and gives you access to your bank account and official services besides the fact that you can sign agreements and identity who you are in a lot of different types of services.

Your Norwegian bank will issue you a BankID, but to open a Norwegian bank account you will need a Norwegian identification number.
